Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in its design. Arguably one of the most attractive looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two-door coupe body. At the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, Aston Martin introduced the six litre Cosworth-designed and built V12 engine, developing 420bhp and accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.9 seconds with a top speed limited to 185mph. Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps and restyled the valances to give the car a more aggressive look.

A rare and highly desirable model, the DB7 Volante offered here comes with the rare manual gearbox option. First registered on 7th July 2000, this ultimate specification DB7 presents beautifully in Stornoway Silver with Charcoal interior and not only boasts the V12, 420BHP engine, but is also one of only 2,046 Vantage Volantes built. Cherished by the vendor for the past 15 years, the history file for this car can only be best described as comprehensive. Bound and in order, every detail from sales invoices to service records are filed. So cherished is the car that the vendor has even kept an annual mileage record. Wanting for nothing, this rare example is reported to run and drive very well and is a very reluctant sale.

Accompanying the vehicle is the V5C registration document, owner's manuals, service records, purchase details, MoT test certificates, Aston Martin Owners Club correspondence and workshop manuals. To find a manual DB7 is hard enough, but to find one in Vantage Volante specification boasting that glorious V12 and with an unparalleled history file, not to mention 'AML' registration plate is near impossible. An opportunity unlikely to come again. Consigned by Will Penrose.
