Description

- 1 of only 71 DB6 MK2 Vantages
- Retains its rare and striking factory specified ‘Burnt Almond’ exterior colour
- Engine rebuilt to RSW 4.7 Litre specification
- A flawless and storied example of an exceedingly rare iteration of the DB6 model line

Built in late 1970, this Aston Martin DB6 Mk2 Vantage was finished in the distinctive and rare Burnt Almond colour and delivered to H.W. Motors Ltd of Walton-on-Thames—Aston Martin’s longest-serving dealer. Out of the mere 71 DB6 Mk2 Vantage models produced, only a handful were specified in this striking colour, making this particular example an exceptional rarity.

In May 1971, the factory issued the guarantee for chassis 4325/R, which had been sold to Colin St. John Wilson M.A., an esteemed Cambridge lecturer, author, and architect best known for designing and overseeing the completion of the British Library in London. Wilson, a distinguished figure in British architecture, owned the car for over a decade before selling it back to H.W. Motors in 1982. It quickly found a second owner the same year.

Under the care of its second owner, the car was repainted in 1984 and sold at auction on 3 December 1990 to its third owner. At that time, the odometer read 22,000 miles, and the car had recently undergone some service work here at RS Williams.

In the 2000s, this DB6 changed hands a few more times before being exported to Kuwait to join a private collection. After spending some time in dry storage, it was acquired by RS Williams, where it received a thorough in-house restoration. This included an engine-out rebuild to 4.7L specification, an interior retrim, and a comprehensive mechanical inspection to bring the car up to the highest standards.

Today, this DB6 Mk2 Vantage remains finished in its original Burnt Almond colour. As one of just 71 examples built, and with a notable first owner, this car offers a rare chance to acquire a significant piece of Aston Martin history and a fine example of the iconic final iteration of the DB6.
