This is a beautiful 1964 Aston Martin DB5. The car was delivered new in the United States. This example was delivered ex-factory as a left-hand drive car. The car has been owned by the same owner since 2007, who has mainly left the car in his collection. The car has already undergone a cosmetic restoration and is still in beautiful condition. At the time, the work was carried out with great attention to detail and according to the documentation accompanying the car, this DB5 has had only four owners in total.
The body is manufactured according to the Superleggera principle of Carrozzeria Touring and looks beautiful. The fits are correct and the sheet metal is nice and thin. The chassis is also in very good and completely original condition and is of course free of rust. The chrome wire wheels and moldings are also in excellent condition. It is obviously impossible to write a text about an Aston Martin DB5 without paying some attention to the man who made the cars most famous: James Bond. That is completely true in this case because this specific example is painted in the Silver Birch that is so characteristic of James Bond's DB5. The paint is in very good condition with only some very light signs of use.
The interior has been completely reupholstered. The workmanship was of an extremely high level making the interior a proper feast for the eye. The carpets fit properly and clearly have not have had much to suffer over the years. The seat leather and dashboard is in very good condition. The wooden inlayed dashboard and wooden 3-spoke steering wheel are quite original and the wonderful Smith’s gauges work exactly as they should. Another feature worth a mention is the factory-fitted air conditioning.
The engine is the extremely supple and powerful 4.0 litre straight-six attached to a manual 5-speed ZF gearbox. The engine has three SU carburettors giving the engine a maximal thrust of 282 Ps at 5,500 RPM. The DB5 also has disc brakes, electric windows and an oil pressure gauge.
Furthermore the DB5 comes nicely documented with a copy of the original guarantee certificate, a photo series , a copy of the original sales receipt and a copy of the original title deed.
In other words this is a splendidly presented Aston Martin DB5 in the mist alluring colour scheme. Bound to leave you shaken!
