- A car built for and exhibited in the 1964 Earl's Court Motor Show car
- Meticulous body off restoration by R.S. Williams in 2019
- Near 40 year ownership from 1978 to 2010s with extensive history of touring across Europe at many Classic Car Rallies
Built in late 1964, this DB5’s factory build sheet reveals it was built for and displayed at the famous Earl’s Court Motor Show in 1964. The car was then sold new via Eton Motors Group to one C. Newton Esq of Blakeney, Norfolk. Originally the car was finished in Autumn Gold with beige interior trim and came equipped with the optional extras of chrome road wheels, a Motorola radio and power aerial.
This car came to us here at R.S Williams in the late 70s and an invoice in the car’s history folder shows it was sold to a new owner in June 1978. This new owner enjoyed and cherished this car for nearly 40 years, making excellent use of this car’s grand touring pedigree touring around Europe in various classic car rallies and personal trips throughout his ownership. Keeping details of each trip he took and the mileage he covered from buying the car in 1978 to its final trip abroad in 2015 to Normandy. This along with the complete records of services and invoices, including the original owner’s instruction book, for all work give this DB5 an interesting and storied history.
Following the previous owners grand touring escapades, the new owner entrusted R.S. Williams to give this DB5 a new lease of life with a much-deserved full in-house restoration. The car we are pleased to offer to you today is the culmination of a meticulously thorough restoration with no detail spared, from a complete engine rebuild to 4.7Liter RSW spec, to the retrim and respray to a handsome shade of Snow Shadow Grey over Tobacco Connolly leather, no expense has been spared in the restoration of this car, making it a fantastic proposition for an enthusiast or collector to take over custody of and enjoy it for another 40 years as its previous owner had.
