Launched in 2016, the Ariel Nomad reinvented the four-wheeled fun factor. Weighing in at just 670kg, the the 2.4 litre Honda-sourced powerplant meant that 0-60 arrived in just 3.4 seconds from just 235bhp. The 0-100 mph sprint coming in just 8.7 seconds. Borrowing many key learnings from their Atom sportscar, the Nomad sees power delivered through a six-speed manual gearbox. The suspension has been heavily upgraded to offer unrivalled dynamic versatility. The Nomad truly is a creation that can be used on the road, on the track, beaches, forests, fields…the opportunities are near endless.

Softening the suspension has worked wonders. The Nomad isn’t as daunting a proposition as its more focussed sibling, instead prioritising fun and driver experience.

This example was supplied new to its first owner in Derbyshire, an avid enthusiast who’s ownership was documented by CAR magazine after his transition from McLaren’s 540C. Whilst waiting for the delivery of his build, he continued to save money to fund the car with the options list growing as the months went by! Currently fitted with 15” rally wheels with BF Goodrich knobbly tyres, an additional set of 18” wheels with road tyres is supplied, a rear bumper was fitted, a coiled aerial, a winch and so on.

The first owner covered 4,110 miles in the car before it passed to the second owner, a prominent collector in 2021. The car was immediately sent back to Ariel for a service and further upgrades, including spare wheel, jack and LED roof-mounted lights.  The Nomad was used sparingly during his ownership; sharing a garage with a McLaren P1 will do that! The car was passed to its current owner later that year.

Since then the Nomad has seen regular use. A second orange marker lamp was added and has most recently been serviced once more by Ariel. Today the mileage stands at 7,050 miles  and is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
