The Amphicar (introduced as Eurocar) was the life's work of the car designer Hans Trippel (1908-2001), who was involved in making amphibious vehicles into old age. The Amphicar 770 is the only amphibious car produced in series, at least for private use. The body came from West Berlin, the engine from England and parts even came from the then GDR. The car was assembled in West Berlin.
3,878 units were produced between 1961 and 1968.
The car was available in four colors. It had a modified Porsche gearbox and a Triumph engine. The Amphicar is still in demand among old car enthusiasts.
The car appeared in the Netherlands in the series by Bassie & Adriaan The disappeared crown, and in Flanders the car became known for its appearance in the BRT youth series Kapitein Zeppos.
He also appears in the Avengers 4th Season 5th Episode Castle De'ath.
If you're looking for an Amphicar 770, this is the best looking one on the market.
It has recently been fully restored, fully verifiable with a photo album.
This is an "Edition Bodensee", which was only available in this beautiful color combination, especially for the Swiss market, with only 13 examples.
