Description

As can be seen in the Alvis production records (a copy of which will be handed over with the car), this Speed Twenty SC drophead coupe with its lovely Charlesworth coachwork, one of only 32 such examples built, was delivered on the 22nd of December 1934. Back then it was finished in blue with a blue leather interior and as such was sold to a Mr. Walther Sharpe in Leicester. In the following years The Speed Twenty, chassis no. 17044, had six more English owners, was most probably restored back in the 80s and, in its actual colour combination, was taken over and imported by the 1st and so far only Swiss owner in 1987. He regularly enjoyed his noble steed for many happy outings and rallies as far as China as well as entering it in several Concours d’Elegance Events. The car was always well maintained and about 10 years ago received a type correct and overhauled exchange engine, no. 12426. A pallet with the original engine and some spare parts is available and can be collected by the buyer in Toffen. Family events resulted in the Alvis being de-registered and stored in August 2021. The rare cabriolet is well documented and is in good condition showing the normal signs of use. The latest Veteran MOT was completed in March 2020.
