Description

The BMW Z8, the spiritual successor to the legendary BMW 507, was equipped with a 4.9 litre V8 delivering 400 horsepower and was built exclusively with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The price initially stood at around 200’000 Swiss francs. Owners who wished to drive their example, - made immortal in the James Bond flick “The world is not enough”, - with an automatic gearbox, had the possibility, for an additional 10’000 francs, to order one of the 555 Alpina variants built. Those cars, equipped with the Alpina F5 4.8-litre V8 “only” delivered 381 horsepower but with improved torque performed just like the manual gearbox version. The car offered, number 081/555, was delivered in Germany and 1st registered there on the 14th October 2003. In December 2021, the sporting roadster was taken over by the vendor and imported into Switzerland. He occasionally used his rare Alpina during summer months but mostly just had it on display in his collection. With only 53’000 kilometres driven, the Z8 is in very good and well-maintained original condition. The hardtop, including its stand, is available and may be picked up by the vendor in the Zurich area. The last MOT was completed in May 2022.
