In May 1983, this very BMW 635 CSi arrived in the diminutive town of Buchloe, southwest of Munich, to be transformed into a B9 3.5 Coupé/1 by pre-eminent BMW tuner Alpina. Technical enhancements included fitting the 3,430-cc M30 straight-six engine with Mahle pistons, an uprated camshaft, and a modified cylinder head to achieve 245 PS, plus Bilstein suspension was installed. The Alpine White exterior gained signature Alpina graphics, while the interior was capped off by striped Recaro sports seats.

Assigned the Alpina production number 190, which also accounts for the B9s based on the E28 5 Series, this car is one of 73 B9 3.5 Coupé/1 examples built between 1983 and 1985. First registered in Germany on 12 March 1984, it is believed to have lived in northern Frankfurt into the early 2000s. The consigning keeper, based in Norway, subsequently acquired it in January 2012 before registering the car the following March. Regularly maintained since, the odometer reads 160,118 kilometres at the time of cataloguing.

This appealing driver’s example of an Alpina B9 3.5 Coupé/1, rated with a 240 km/h top speed, will instantly mark its next owner out as a true connoisseur.
