Description

The Alfa Romeo 2.6 SZ we are offering has recently undergone a complete mechanical restoration. Mechanically, all components have been restored, and now it is in order and ready for any test. Photographs and materials related to all mechanical work of the recent restoration are available, including the engine group, gearbox, and brakes. The body is in generally good condition, although the car was originally white and then repainted in Alfa Red. Original and well-preserved upholstery. Black plates with the province code in orange color. Original logbook.

In 1963, Zagato presented the prototype of its interpretation of the Alfa Romeo 2600 (designated as Series 106.12), designed by Ercole Spada with a decidedly aerodynamic and innovative line, characterized by the front end with elliptical headlights. It was distinguishable for its particularly original lines reminiscent of contemporary Zagato style, making it similar to the Lancia Flaminia Super Sport. This car was put into production three years later, starting in 1965, and produced for only two years, with 105 units made, including 32 in 1965, 59 in 1966, and only 14 in 1967, one of which is remembered as being owned by the iconic Sophia Loren.
