Description

Registration number: AR-51-14

We at Gallery Aaldering originally started with Alfa Romeos, and we said for years that the Alfa Romeo Montreal was a highly underrated car. Fortunately, the model has received the recognition it deserves over the years. A stunningly designed car with top-notch Italian styling. Just look at how the grills over the headlights move down when the lights are switched on. That's the Montreal: it keeps you excited, and you can never get enough of it.

In the late 1960s, Alfa Romeo was tasked with presenting a visionary concept for the car of the future at the 1967 World Expo in Montreal. For this prestigious occasion, the young and talented designer Marcelo Gandini from the renowned design house Bertone was brought in. Gandini, who gained immense fame for the iconic Lamborghini Miura, used his authentic vision to create the Alfa Romeo Montreal. We boldly state that an Alfa Montreal and a Lamborghini Miura are unmistakably related. The positive reactions to the prototype led Alfa Romeo to decide to develop a production version of the Montreal. The final model stayed true to the original design, but was even better than the prototype. Why? Alfa did not place a four-cylinder engine in the new Montreal but a modified version of the Tipo 33 V8 engine! This racing engine, with its dual overhead camshafts and dry sump lubrication system, delivered unprecedented performance for an Alfa Romeo suitable for street use. Thanks to this powerful engine and aerodynamic design, the Montreal achieved a top speed of nearly 225 km/h.
With approximately 3,925 units produced between 1971 and 1975, the Alfa Romeo Montreal has become a rare and sought-after collectible. Rightfully so. This classic car combines technical innovation with a timeless design, making it a unique and desirable car for any car enthusiast.

The chic gray Montreal we offer here is from 1972 and, with its black interior, presents an extremely tasteful and timeless appearance. The delightful V8 engine recently underwent an extensive overhaul by an Alfa Romeo specialist for nearly 10,000 euros. Technically, this Montreal is in optimal condition. That V8 sounds wonderful! This Alfa also drives fantastically because the specialists with the right knowledge performed maintenance on the Montreal. Recently, around 8,000 euros worth of maintenance was also carried out, including work on the suspension and electrics, making it a car that is ready to go.

Additionally, this Montreal underwent restoration work in the past, and therefore the paintwork is still in good condition. The Montreal has the correct wheels with tires, and the details, like the rubber parts and windows, on this car are immaculate. The various body panels fit together very nicely.

The interior is stunning, with beautiful black leather on the beautifully shaped seats. The wooden steering wheel, the red gauges with the unique design, the smaller gauges, and the center console with the typical black switches are things that immediately catch the eye of a car enthusiast. A typical example of Italian interior design at its best. The headliner and carpets are neatly cared for.

With the extensive maintenance and overhaul work, this is a fantastic Alfa Montreal for the enthusiast. Looking for a Montreal in a rare and good condition?
