Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider “750D - passo corto” 1959 LHD

For car manufacturer Alfa Romeo the new Giulietta model meant the breakthrough in the post WW II economical revival.

First launched in 1954 was the sporty Giulietta Sprint Coupé, designed by Franco Scaglione working for Bertone. The next year a Berlina version debuted, but a few months later the automotive world was stunned when, on instigation by the dynamic US sportscar importer Max Hoffmann, Pininfarina unveiled the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider mid-1955.

A very modern concept and responsive monocoque convertible powered by a rev-happy 1300 cc twin-cam all alloy engine providing superior driving dynamics when compared with its primary competitors.

This sexy early 750D (passo corto chassis) Spider in Medio Blu was built on the 25-th of February 1959 and sold new to the south of France, where this Giulietta resided benefitting from the mild climate until our company Marreyt Classics bought this Spider in 2016.
Charmed by the sound and very original condition of this early “passo corto” Giulietta Spider (typical with nice small rear lights, open glovebox dashboard and sloping windscreen without quarter-lights) we immediately undertook a full restoration respecting all the factory specifications and especially the attractive colour combination of Medio Blu Celeste with black trim with baby blue piping, nicely complemented with a blue canvas top and a rare Pininfarina hard-top in black.

Also the mechanics benefitted from a full rebuild. Every Alfa Romeo fanatic will be very pleased to open the bonnet to admire the “state of the art” twin-cam engine in an immaculate engine bay.

To maximise the pleasure of enjoying this Giulietta in modern traffic we fitted this Spider with Giulia spec 5-speed gearbox and disc brakes on the front axle.
A nice extra and “personal touch” is the stylish Nardi steering wheel.

After the 2016 in depth restoration this very attractive Giulietta Spider was sparingly exercised which means this Alfa Romeo is still in spic & span condition and immediately ready for this season’s Spring & Summer touring.

Even better this Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider “passo corto” is now for sale at a fraction of the 2016 purchase and restoration cost and is today attractively priced at: 110.000 Euro.
