Description
The 'Sprint Speciale', with its aircraft-like body, is reminiscent of Bertone's experimental B.A.T. series of show cars, both of which were created by Franco Scaglione. It is reminiscent of Bertone's experimental B.A.T. series of show cars, both of which were designed by Franco Scaglione. The original aerodynamic styling he designed for the SS in 1957 had a number of distinctive details, including a low, elongated nose, a sloping rear windscreen that connected to the boot lid and a squared-off tail, and its subtle curves were a mid-century It shows its true value as a work of art.
Sharing many similarities with its predecessor, the Giulietta SS, the Giulia SS debuted at the 1963 Geneva Show with a 1,600 cc four-cylinder engine, larger than that of the Giulietta. Production began at the end of the same year. The larger displacement engine was designed with the US market in mind. The exterior remained largely unchanged with the Giulia, but the interior was slightly modified, with a new dashboard and instrument panel. 1,400 Giulia SSs went off the line until 1965, when they were handed over to the Giulia Sprint GT.
This car is a Giulia SS imported to Japan in 1998. It has a very beautiful Champagne Gold body, but it is not the original colour. Original should be red. The engine is the same model but has been replaced by a TI 1.6 engine (AR00514), the engine, transmission and carbs were all Overhauled about 5 years ago and the whole car has been semi-restored. The car has such a graceful style that we don't think we've ever seen a more gorgeous car, but this SS was used on a daily basis and is recommended for those who want to enjoy their SS without any fuss.
