This truly iconic hugely significant vehicle Chassis #CSX 2105 is in absolute pristine period-correct condition and is ready to be enjoyed, nothing required and always maintained by her collector clients, so this is an amazing opportunity to be seized upon. This prime example is being offered for the first time in many many years and is fully documented with the Shelby register and also the "Shelby- World register of Cobra\'s" available confirming her history and status. This is a very rare find not to be missed and hopefully stays in Australia as this is also advertised overseas.

Delivered new on the 4th January 1963 to Shelby America then shipped to NY on the 4th April 1963 on board \'SS Vlist" and #CSX2105 was sold by Coventry Motors CA to a Mr William Nicholas in Mill Valley CA. The second owner Mr Ed Breith purchased her in the late 70s and retrimmed it in black leather and added the white stripes and the refresh paintwork of the guardsman blue. The Cobra was then sold later in the 90\'s to a another collector client before resurfacing in 99\' and being sold to a another collector in Texas Mr Chris Minnick and then few years later was acquired by another serious car collector here in Australia that\'s how she finally made her way here. Then after a few years she was then sold to another collector client here in 2006.

The AC Bristol motor company made these little sports cars with 6 Zephyr cylinder engine but in September 1961, American retired race car driver and automotive designer Carroll Shelby wrote to AC asking if they would build him a car modified to accept a V8 engine. Bristol engines for the AC Ace two-seater sports car had recently been discontinued so AC agreed, provided a suitable engine could be found. Shelby went to Chevrolet to see if they would provide him with engines, but not wanting to add competition to the Corvette they said no. However, Ford wanted a car that could compete with the Corvette and they happened to have a brand new engine that could be used in this endeavor: the Windsor 3.6-litre (221 cu in) engine – a new lightweight, thin-wall cast small-block V8. Ford provided Shelby with two engines. The rest is history and this significant MK2 AC Cobra is a major part of it.

CSX2105; C; Cobra S; Shelby X; Export, 2; Mk II, No 105 of 528 AC, an English company, started building the Ace in 1953 with the Bristol 6 cyl engine, when production of this engine ceased in 1961, they used the 2600cc Ford Zephyr engine but with alloy head and triple weber carbs, this proved unreliable so went to Carroll Shelby in America and then started using Ford V8s. . So the first AC Cobra, the Mk I, had the 260 cu in Ford V8, 75 were made and in 1963 a further 51 were built with the 289 The 1963-65 Mk II got rack and pinion steering, and the 289 V8, 528 were made to become more competitive with the Corvette, the 1965-67 Mk III got the big block 427 cu in Ford V8, a new chassis, coil suspension all round, wider fenders and wider radiator opening. 300 were made with the 427 (27 narrow fender 289s were also built) Ford and Shelby pulled out in 1967, AC kept building cars for a few more years Many company\'s world wide have been making replicas of this popular Roadster ever since. But this is the "real" deal.
