History
Ever since the Fiat 500 was launched in 1957, Abarth has been producing sporty variants of the car affectionately known as the 'yoghurt pot'. Re-launched in 2008, the 500 with the scorpion emblem is back on the road. The sporty, affordable and versatile compact segment is hotly contested with a multitude of models on offer, but the Abarth 500 stands out from its rivals because of its inimitable size, bright colours, raucous soundtrack and above all its Italian origins.
Available in Standard, Turismo and finally Competizione versions, with power ratings ranging from 135 to 180 hp, the Abarth has also been the subject of numerous limited editions that have become collectors' items, such as the Tributo Ferrari edition that we offer here. Produced in 1649 units (including 200 courtesy vehicles for Ferrari dealerships), it was launched in 2011 and will be sold in three official Ferrari colours: Giallo Modena, Blu Tour de France and, of course, Rosso Corsa like ours. This smiling machine is equipped with the most powerful engine in the range, the 1.4-litre 4-cylinder supercharged by a Garrett turbo to achieve 180 horsepower, a relatively modest figure in absolute terms but offering a remarkable power-to-weight ratio. The Monza exhaust system sets the tone with a raucous sound throughout the operating range, with feedback on deceleration and a characteristic clatter on gear changes. The semi-automatic gearbox provides ease of use in urban environments. Its powerful Brembo brakes (4-piston calipers) have no trouble stopping this light car, weighing in at around a ton.
Our 500 is a second hand car acquired in 2015. It has rarely been used in town, but rather on weekends for pleasure and has slept in a closed garage. The total certified mileage is 54500 km, of which 10000 with the current owner and only 1000 in 2020. It has its service record, original protective cover, spare keys and full tool kit. The vehicle is currently in Paris and is registered in France.
