Norton Commando 750cc ‘1969
Chassis nr. 130596
Restored and rebuilt as period correct racer
Sold as new to Sweden

Norton is one of Great Britain's traditional motorcycle manufacturer legends, which was started in 1898 by Jones Lansdowne Norton in Birmingham. Norton became famous especially as a motorcycle manufacturer that managed to set numerous motorcycle speed records before the world wars.

In 1966, the Norton Villiers Motorcycle Factory was established to continue Norton, following the purchase of Norton's parent company, AMC, by Manganese Bronze Holding.

One year later, 1967 Norton-Villiers introduced the new Commando, developed as a successor for Norton Atlas, and with it an all-new twin-cylinder, 750cc pushrod engine. The new Isolastic frame made it possible to minimize engine vibrations and made this fast and powerful British motorcycle comfortable. The Norton was also both faster and more powerful than its most important competitorsTriumph and BSA. Britain's biggest motorcycle magazine MCN chose Norton Commando as the best motorcycle of the year no less than four times in a row between 1968 and 1972!

This Norton Commando has been sold new in Sweden and it was imported to Finland in 2007. In Finland, the motorcycle has been thoroughly restored, including the engine, electrics and gearbox, and built as a modern Racer. Driven about 5000 kilometres since then.

The bike has a Norton aluminum tank and a cafe racer saddle. The fenders have also been updated to be more graceful in the racer spirit. The original Fastback saddle and front fender are kept and are included in the sale.

The bike works excellently and has its perky torque and power with great throttle response. The engine runs smoothly and the bike is easy to start. The sound of engine is just right for this kind of bike, and simply wonderful.
