The Moto Guzzi motorcycle design was exceptionally advanced for its time, with several features such as gear-driven primary transmission, overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder being just some of its salient features, which would later be used by many other manufacturers. However, the Normale (standard) model that went into production in 1921 was necessarily less ambitious to reduce costs._x000D_
The Guzzi engine derived from the normale lasted until the 1930s, although considerably changed as development progressed, and was used in its latest form for the Sport 14. Introduced in late 1928, the Sport 14 was notable for its three-spring fork, inherited from the models used in competition, and for its Miller dynamo electrical system. Although produced for only two years, the Sport 14 was one of the best-selling Guzzi models of the period._x000D_
