In 1998 KTM LC4s finished 2nd and 3rd on the Dakar Rally ridden by Fabrizio Meoni and Andrew Haydon respectively, while Richard Sainct rode a KTM into 2nd place on the Tunisia Rally. KTM would not have long to wait for its coveted first Dakar win, which fell to Meoni in 2001. The Austrian manufacturer would go on to win the next 17 events, an unparalleled run of success. Competition prepared and believed to have been ridden by Richard Sainct during the 1996 Paris-Dakar.

This bike has been on static display since a number of years and is in need of recommissioning.
