Bought from a German collector, this Rau motorcycle named after its German preparer, entered the collection of our enthusiast more than 10 years ago. Manfred Rau was the direct rival of the famous Swiss tuner Fritz Egli, who had the particularity of offering nickel-plated frames. The mechanicals of this motorcycle were overhauled and with its displacement of 1170cc, and a ramp of CR carburettors, it develops 143bhp. It is equipped with an aluminum tank, big brakes, and a pair of new Ohlins shocks at the rear. Still with its German title, it will be possible to register as a historic motorcycle. A true endurance motorcycle of its time, it will surely delight anyone who wants to participate in historic endurance races.
The auction of this lot will take place on Saturday 19 March 2022.
