The KR1 250 was manufactured between 1988 and 1989 and between 1990 and 1992 in the KR-1S version, affectionately nicknamed KRIS. The base version of the KR1 was equipped with a two-stroke engine, black silencers and expansion chamber, three-spoke wheels and dual-piston disc brakes, fixed rear calliper and an oscillating plate and choke valve on the KIPS exhaust. The KR1 was extremely successful: its sensible speed and impressive driveability made it accessible to a wider audience.
