This seminal motorcycle was registered in Italy in 1976 and has done only 22,000 kms. It was owned by an elderly gentleman, who has ridden her just about 1,000 kms in the last 20 years.
The Honda 500 CB Four Mk3 was one of the better balanced motorbikes ever produced by Honda until the late ‘70s: all its details demon strated the care the Honda designers had put in its creation, with little concern for the cost of the project.
Its heart was a four cylinder DOHC motor with four carbs, oil bath clutch and five speed gearbox, chain drive, electric and pedal start, hydraulic front suspension with telescopic forks, and hydraulic shoks at the back. The braking system had one front disc and rear drum and was very well balanced.
Many a rider preferred the 500 to the more powerful 750, as it was judged to be too powerful for the rest of the bike. This, and its obvious price advantage, made the 500 Four a very successful model, and it still is a very enjoyable ride today.
The motorcycle is in excellent mechanical condition but, for safety reasons, we advise the purchaser to have it checked over before driving.
