Description

The Ducati 996R was the ‘Racing’ variant of their 996 range. Replacing the 916, it was made to be the ultimate superbike. Using Ducati’s 998cc Testastretta engine it produced 136 bhp and could rev up to 10,200 rpm. Maximum torque was 105 Nm at 8000 rpm.

Built with the World Superbike Championship in mind, it was designed by ex-F1 engineer, Angiolino Marchetti, a legend of motorsport. As a limited-run superbike only 500 were made and it included carbon fibre fairings, carbon fibre Termignoni exhausts and Ӧhlins adjustable steering dampers (front and rear). It was also born with new Brembo brakes with thinner discs.

This model has been ridden only 8924 miles and comes with documented service history. The stamped service book, owners’ manual and dealer guide are present along with spare sets of keys. The bike also features gold-coloured vents at the rear, which match the front forks and details nicely. A legendary bike presented in stunning condition.
