The forerunner of the famous Leoncino, this model is a series II Benelli Letizia 98 (the first series was produced the previous year). Manufactured as standard with green bodywork, it featured a two-stroke OHV engine tilted forward with aluminium head and 97 cc cast iron cylinder, putting out a total of ten horsepower, kickstarter, air cooling, chain drive and manual shift. The Letizia 98 was a good-looking bike which was innovative for its time, with the detail of the saddle “detached” from the rear wheel giving it a completely unique design for its segment.
