‘GT Racer’, the acclaimed six-programme TV series directed by Alexander Davidis first aired on television this year, is now available to a worldwide audience. The multi-DVD set includes footage from the 2007 historic racing season, and includes classic races from Spa, Silverstone, Oporto, the Nürburgring and Lime Rock.

Each race is covered from the perspective of different competing drivers and teams, and follows the emotions of a typical historic racing weekend. The production - that includes much in-car camerawork - is typical Davidis: short sections of vibrant colour and action cut together in an almost ‘Frankenheimer-esque’ way.

Davidis’s first film on the subject, ‘Shaken & Stirred’, covered several entrants in their efforts to win the 2006 Spa 6 Hours. A successful debut film, it was, in effect, a pilot for the six-programme ‘GT Racer’.
