Inspired by Germany, born in Switzerland
Limited to just 250 pieces, this race-ready Ingenieur features the legendary soft iron cage that protected the first Ingenieur of 1955 from troublesome magnetic fields, as well as some special touches in homage to the Swiss firm’s powerful partnership with Mercedes-AMG. With a 44mm titanium case, the silver-plated dial of the AMG anniversary edition features red and white details reminiscent of a race track kerb and black accents in reference to stretches of tarmac. While a look at the sapphire-glass back of the watch exposes a disc-brake-style element, framed by such engravings as “A tribute to one man, one engine,” serving as a reminder of Mercedes-AMG’s hand-built engines. Driven by an IWC-manufactured 89631 calibre with flyback function, this limited-edition birthday celebration of two design heavyweights is an ideal companion on the street or the track, even at a circuit as infamous as the Nürburgring…
