Retro looks, contemporary technology
“Having collected watches for most of my life, I constantly find myself drawn to the classic designs of the past,” explains George Bamford, founder of the Bamford Watch Department. “There is something within these vintage watches that makes them truly timeless, a transcendent beauty that is worth so much more than the mere price of an antique.” The technology behind the Heritage Daytona, however, is anything but vintage – it’s got a perpetual self-winding chronograph movement, a black Bakelite ceramic bezel (with shaved crown guards) and, most obviously, an individually crafted dial replicating the hallowed 6240 and 6263 ‘Paul Newman’ models. We’d opt for the reverse ‘panda’ dialed version, and promptly affix it to a cuff strap – who says you shouldn’t emulate your heroes?
