Usually starting in the early hours of the morning, long before the birds are chirping and the sun is rising, that dawn solace is a time to settle in and prepare for what is likely to be a wonderful day of car-themed goodness. For their 10-year anniversary, 2024 will see this ambitious team of innovators bring a mouth-watering selection of classic cars back to the birthplace of their events – Switzerland’s breath-taking Andermatt region.
Located in the heart of Switzerland’s Alpine passes, a staggering 1,444 metres high up in the valleys, the region is seen as a crossroads of the mountain routes, from north to south and from east to west. Therefore, it's the perfect place for motoring exploration, and is the base in which Supercar Owners Circle first laid its foundations back in 2014. What started as a casual drive out for a small group of supercars and their owners quickly evolved into something much bigger as attendees of Supercar Owners Circle events became hooked on the exprience. However, while supercars are in the name, over 70% of the Supercar Owners Circle's regulars love classics just as much as cutting-edge modern machines, and they have the collections to prove it!
This year’s event, which will be held in June, will specifically cater for these classics and young timer classics, with confirmed entrants in the form of a Ferrari F40 LM, a rarer-than-rare Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing Alloy, and not to mention a flurry of golden-era Ferraris and a even one-off Lamborghini Miura, arguably the world's first supercar, for good measure. Using The Chedi Andermatt as their base, attendees can expect a truly unparalleled experience from the moment they arrive at this world-class Swiss hotel. Offering a casual five-star atmosphere, the surrounding beauty will be explored in a series of drives deep into the heart of the Swiss Alps across three days. What sets an SOC event apart, however, is the additional closed-road sections of the Alps, allowing far more than your typical road-going classics to be enjoyed on these jaw-dropping roads. This year, attendees can look forward to sampling no less than three iconic passes, closed exclusively for Supercar Owners Circle. So far, the team have teased a selection of race cars that will tackle the closed-road sections, including a Lotus Type 76, a mighty F1 car that is set to make one unforgettable moment!
With over 40 kilometres of closed road driving, and around 340 kilometres in total spread over the three days, very few opportunities such as this exist to experience The Alps in their purest form.
