It’s the event that officially kicks off another jam-packed year of events, and one that celebrates the joy of motoring, right through from iconic mid-century classics to supercars and youngtimers ready to skyrocket in value. InterClassics Maastricht has become the beacon that ignites the coming year of car-themed goodness, and this year’s 30th anniversary celebration promises to be one you most certainly won’t want to miss.
As a part of the celebration, organisers invited visitors to vote for their favourite cars from past editions of InterClassics. The response received was what the team called ‘overwhelming’ with no less than 4,000 submissions determining a lineup of 21 cars. Among them, the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB was crowned the public’s absolute favourite, claiming an impressive 56% of the votes and surpassing the Ford GT40, Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, and Amilcar Type C6.
Aside from these golden-era style icons, the exhibition boasts a diverse array of machines, including the Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ1, the Le Mans-winning Jaguar D-Type from the Louwman Museum and an official works Aston Martin DB3, all making for a jaw-dropping display of race and road legends.
As the main exhibition is likely to hold the most celebrations, elsewhere in the 35,000 square metre exhibition space, visitors can expect a medley of new meeting old from the car world. While much of the motoring world welcomes the youngtimer classics with open arms, the research carried out by InterClassics while holding the public vote revealed that the admiration for true classics is anything but dwindling. In celebration of this, many of the attending dealerships will display a mouth-watering selection of classics, many of which will be available to purchase, should the temptation to drive away in something new-to-you get too much!
Bringing some new school to the proceedings this year is InterClassics’ celebration of all thing’s sim racing. Based on previous events, it has become the leading exhibition for sim racers in the Netherlands, showcasing more than 60 professional simulators from top manufacturers demonstrating the latest hardware and software. Attendees can enjoy live demonstrations, competitions, and seminars from the ever-growing world of e-sports and sim racing, bringing a whole new perspective to the motoring world.
InterClassics Maastricht will take place from Thursday, January 16, to Sunday, January 19, 2025, at MECC Maastricht, and is expected to attract over 35,000 buyers and enthusiasts across those dates.
