Following the success of the 2004 edition that saw no less than 1,135 Italian cars on the most beautiful circuit of the world, this year the organisers have decided to pay a tribute to an Italian legend in coachbuilding; Pininfarina.
Pininfarina is indeed a master in car design. He’s at the origins of the most beautiful Ferraris, from the unforgettable 250 GT SWB to the latest F430 and the gorgeous Enzo. He was also the author of a number of concepts like the Ferrari Modulo or the Sigma Formula 1 car.
By celebrating the 75th anniversary of the factory, the organisers of SpaItalia will acknowledge the contribution of this small artisan who became one of the greatest industrialists of the automobile industry. It was on 22nd May 1930 that Gina-Battista Farina (brother of the famous driver Nino Farina) launched the Società Anonima Carrozzeria Pinin Farina. Seventy five years later, on Sunday 29th May 2005, all Italian car enthusiasts will be at Francorchamps to consider some of the most beautiful examples from the Turin factory.
The other theme of this edition is the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Ecurie Nationale Belge, the famous "ENB" which mainly used Italian racing cars in the Fifties.
The usual attractions such as the first runs in Ferrari, the "Grande Parade", the "Concours d’Elegance" will be available. In addition a new attempt to be in the Guinness Book of Records will be made by the largest number of ‘Series 105’ Alfa Romeo Spiders gathered in one place!
The date is May 29, 2005, and for more information and registration, please visit www.spaitalia.be.
