Legendary Italian manufacturer MV Agusta has released full details of its 2012 F3 675 motorcycle. The latest supersports machine will have a counter-clockwise-spinning crankshaft, traction control and ride-by-wire throttle.

At the heart of the F3 is a 675cc, in-line three-cylinder. The counter-clockwise-spinning crank is normally seen only in racing bikes (it is said to improve handling, acceleration and agility, and has been well-proven in MotoGP). Unconventional gyration apart, the motor produces 125bhp and revs to an impressive 15,000rpm - the highest ever seen on a ‘triple’.

Keeping all this in check is an eight-stage traction control system - a first on a supersports motorcycle - which regulates power sent by the ride-by-wire throttle. In addition, there are four standard 'power modes', with an extra fifth that can be customised by the rider. As you'd expect, the fully adjustable suspension can be set up to a rider's personal preference, too.

MV has also released a teaser video of its Brutale 675, which will be fully revealed within the next week or so. Based on the £9999 F3, the 'naked' Brutale will cost £2000 less but loses 10bhp (to 115bhp) and some of the F3’s more specialised engine componentry.
