The Montante for Maserati 8CTF Bicycle

The Montante for Maserati 8CTF Bicycle

Maserati has teamed up with Sicilian bicycle-maker Montante Cicli to produce a single-speed two-wheeler to celebrate Maserati 8CTF-driving Wilbur Shaw’s victory at the Indy 500, 70 years ago.

Just 200 examples of the made-to-measure bike will be produced, all finished in the characteristic dark red of the winning car. The design is one of Montante’s original classics and has a period look with its curving lines, single-speed hub and grey-walled tyres. A single front disc-brake stops the beautifully finished bicycle.

The chrome Trident is in a very 1930s style, while a ‘chassis plate’ and a silver ‘Boyle Special’ logo are featured on the cross-bar. All 200 editions will be individually numbered and will show the first owner's name.

The limited-edition Montante for 8CTF Maserati bike is hand-made to order, and is available through the online Maserati Store, www.maseratistore.com, at a price of £3204 (3600 euros) plus shipping. Delivery is two months from receipt of payment.
