Under the title ‘Timeless - 60 Years of Mercedes-Benz SL’, a special exhibition will open on 24 January 2012 at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, bringing all generations of SL sports car together in one room for the first time.

In keeping with the launch of the new R231 series SL in the spring of 2012, the Mercedes-Benz Museum will pay tribute to the special strain of sports car. Included, of course, will be the legendary 300 SL (W194) which won the Carrera Panamericana in 1952, the 190 SL (W121) from 1959 which formerly belonged to the U.S. astronaut David R. Scott and the 2001 Formula 1 Safety Car, as well as various modern examples. Additionally, a programme of guided tours and special events is also being prepared.
