The Los Angeles-based contemporary fashion label Period Correct has chosen the famously gruelling East African Safari Rally as the basis for its latest capsule collection. Comprising rugged jackets, hoodies, t-shirts and hats, the pieces explore the connection between the safari and motorsport worlds, most famously embodied by the East African Safari Rally, in which rally legends of yore drove their hearts out for glory on the prestigious plains. 

Take Sandro Munari, for example, a monochromatic image of whom wrestling his classic Alitalia-liveried Lancia Stratos in the 1977 running of the legendary event is emblazoned on one of the capsule’s t-shirts. You can browse the entire ‘Safari Collection’ from Period Correct either at its online store or its physical atelier in Costa Mesa, California. The latter is well worth a visit if you’re in the greater Los Angeles area.
