This book celebrates mud, dirt - and the art of losing a motorcycle race

Created to mark the ten-year anniversary of the now world-famous Malle Mile, this hardback book is an absolute must for any mud-loving motorcycle rider. Both editions are now available in the CD Shop!

“Ride on, my friends. And remember, the greatest journeys start where the road ends and the racetrack begins.”  Talk about an opening line, taken from the foreword written by none other than adventure motorcycling legend Charlie Boorman, and just like that you’re head first into Malle London’s latest 256-page book, celebrating the humble beginnings of the Malle Mile and how it has flourished into one of the world’s best motorcycle events.

Not just focusing on The Mile itself, the book takes a deep dive into the sub-culture of the motorcycle racers, makers and the Malle Mile shakers from ten years of the event. Jokingly, the strapline is “The motorcycle race we all lose together,” showcasing the playfulness of the event, and for the organisers, fans and riders, it’s all about making the best memories, and who can get the muddiest.

The book includes more than 340 images by photographers Amy Shore, Kevin Bennett, Shane Benson, Roberto Garagarza, Lydia Harper, Max Howard, Michael Jersovs, Tom Kahler, Marek Puc and others, who all expertly transformed the racing into art, while helping to sculpt the perspective of motorcycle culture.

Over the years, the festival has evolved exponentially, carving its place into the roster of British motorcycle history. What began as a humble gathering of friends has blossomed into a cultural phenomenon, drawing riders from across the country and beyond. Despite the growth, the essence of The Mile remains unchanged, showcasing a celebration of camaraderie, passion and a hint of rebellion! This book tells all, from the drunken ideas that sparked the event, right through to the largest gathering of like-minded riders Malle has ever seen.

‘Miles’ is available in two unique editions, including a collector’s special edition. Each of the limited edition copies is signed and numbered by the Malle founders, in a black-on-black embossed slip case and Malle Mile no.10 fold out poster. This special edition is limited to 200 copies and is available alongside the standard edition in the CD Shop now!
