Commissioned by a European client and revealed at last weekend’s Chantilly Arts & Elegance, the Virage Shooting Brake Zagato follows the DBS Coupé and DB9 Spider Zagato Centennial models, both of which were shown at last year’s official Aston Martin centenary celebration in Kensington Park.
Said to encompass design cues from the mid-1980s V8 Vantage and Volante models, the bespoke design is certainly fresh, though thankfully the core Aston Martin/Zagato design principles have not been lost in translation – double bubble, anyone?
The very English shooting brake concept has long been the darling of Italian design houses, so it was perhaps the natural step for Zagato to complete the Aston Martin centennial trilogy in such a way.
