The pocket rockets from the 1960s to the 1980s are among the big winners of the 2017 auction year — with prices for these rally racers now set accordingly high. But Aguttes’ Vente d’Automne catalogue proves that there are still quite a few affordable racing machines left in Europe's garages. At its auction this weekend, you’ll find a Simca 1000 Rallye 2 for an estimated 12,000–18,000 euros, a Renault 8 Gordini and a René Bonnet Djet each estimated at 38,000–48,000 euros, and a Peugeot 505 Turbo Superproduction for an estimated 50,000–70,000 euros. While the road versions of these beasts, including a Peugeot 205 GTI, Renault Clio Williams, and Renault Super 5 GT Turbo, are available at even cheaper prices.
Along with the racing revellers, Aguttes is also offering some well-established classics, GT sports cars, and youngtimers, including a 2001 Ferrari 456M GT (est. 55,000–65,000 euros) and the Porsche 928 GT previously owned by Johnny Hallyday (50,000–70,000 euros). Agutte’s entire Vente d’Automne auction catalogue can be found in the Classic Driver Market, or alternatively, you can find our 10 favourite cars listed below.
