Franz-Josef Kempen founded Royal Motors Kempen in the south of Cologne in 1967 and, initially, brought Rhenish motorists closer to high-quality and exotic British brands such as Triumph, MG, Austin, and Morris ever since. The missionary work was successful and in 1970, Jaguar and Land Rover were added to its inventory. A small claim to fame is that it delivered the 100,000th Jaguar XJ Series III.
