On 18 November 2010, at Jack Barclay’s London showroom, Classic Driver will present a luxurious new book devoted to this remarkable car. Respected author, racing driver and regular Classic Driver contributor, Tony Dron, has interviewed the designers and engineers behind the Bentley Brooklands, building up a fascinating picture of the skill and dedication needed to produce such a modern-day automotive icon. Dron then hands over to fellow journalist Simon de Burton, who takes a brand-new Bentley Brooklands from London, across the Channel, and on an evocative journey through France to the Cote d’Azur. Striking images, by world-renowned photographers Michael Bailie and Charlie Best, provide a dramatic illustration of both the journey and the Bentley Brooklands in production at Crewe.
The book, to go on sale this month, is available in two editions. The ‘Standard’ version is bound in burgundy cloth, with a velvet-lined burgundy cloth slip-case and foil blocking on front and spine. It costs £125.00 + post & packing. The ‘Special’ edition, at a price of £295.00 + post & packing, will be published in strictly limited numbers and bound in burgundy (to match the featured car’s interior) Pasubio leather, with a velvet-lined, burgundy Pasubio leather-covered slip-case and foil blocking on front and spine.
