It might be the jaw-droppingly beautiful 1964 Ferrari 250 GT ‘Lusso’ finished in Rosso Cina (est. 1.5–1.75m CHF) that spearheads Oldtimer Galerie Toffen’s Classic Car Auction in Gstaad on 29 December in terms of value, but it’s the rare 2006 Ford GT Heritage Edition that’s raised our pulses the most. It’s one of just 343 Heritage Editions (a package that essentially starts and ends with the classic blue and orange colour scheme from the Le Mans-winning Mirage GT40s) and has covered a scarcely believable 335 miles from new. The as-new GT is estimated to sell for 325,000–375,000 CHF when it crosses the block.
Elsewhere in the catalogue we also fell for two German super saloons: the 1985 BMW Alpina B9 3.5 (40,000–50,000 CHF) and the 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evo 2 (155,000–175,000 CHF). The former is a generously specified example that despite having travelled a mighty 196,000km looks to be in remarkably good condition. The latter, meanwhile, is the 140th of the 500 Evo 2s built to homologate the DTM car and is notable in that it’s being offered by its first and only owner, a gentleman from Bern who has maintained the car regardless of cost for his entire ownership.
