After the Geneva watch fair Watches & Wonders and The Ice in St. Moritz were cancelled earlier this week, the Geneva Motor Show will also not go ahead due to the spread of the coronavirus. The Swiss federal government announced a ‘special situation’ for the country on Friday morning and prohibited any major events with more than 1,000 participants. Numerous exhibitors had already cancelled their involvement with the world’s most important automotive fair, which was due to take place at the Geneva Palexpo from 5–15 March. Last year, around 600,000 people visited the show.
