When we entered the grounds of Windsor Castle for the 2012 Concours of Elegance – which brought together 60 exceptional cars to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne – it was instantly apparent that it was a world-class event. Brits no longer needed to travel to Pebble Beach or Lake Como to witness an upper-echelon automotive beauty pageant. Visitors arrived from all parts of the world and, building on the inaugural event’s success, the organisers managed not only to lure another crop of crème de-la crème automobiles to subsequent events, but also to give them new, royal backdrops: St James’ Palace in 2013, and Hampton Court Palace in 2014.
A very special setting
This year’s event will take place in an equally impressive setting: with the permission of The Queen, and the patronage of Prince Michael of Kent, the 2015 Concours of Elegance will commandeer the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. In addition to the usual format of 60 high-calibre classics, owners will again be invited to a pre-event tour of the surrounding area before presenting their machines – many of which have never been seen before in the U.K. – in the splendour of the Concours. As part of our partnership, we’ll be bringing you many exciting and exclusive stories from the heart of British automotive nobility in the lead-up to the event, so stay tuned.
