Classic Driver celebrates its 25th anniversary at Concours of Elegance

It’s 25 years since Classic Driver first went live in 1998. So come join us on September 1-3 at Concours of Elegance in London when we kick off our birthday celebrations in style with an anniversary display of very special cars.

For us it’s hard to believe that Classic Driver has been around for a quarter of a century. After all, it feels like yesterday that we were sitting in front of our boldly colourful first-generation iMacs, waiting for the modem to connect and the images to load on our all-new website. But time flies, cars that were launched in 1998 are now considered classics – and we like to think that we have not only covered, but contributed a fair bit to car culture in the last 25 years. So it’s time to celebrate! Over the next couple of weeks, we will reveal a couple of surprises and gifts for our readers, followers, clients and friends – who are, after all, the real Classic Drivers. We will look back at some of the greatest moments, but also reveal what’s in for the future of our brand.

On 1st to 3rd September, we will kick off our birthday celebrations with an anniversary display of classic and modern collector cars at Concours of Elegance Hampton Court in London. While we don’t want to reveal the cars just yet, we are convinced that we have brought together an eclectic fleet of automobiles that represents our style, philosophy and taste in cars. Our friends from Concours of Elegance have granted us a wonderful location right in front of Hampton Court palace – and we would love to see many of you for a chat.

While we are especially proud of our 25th anniversary display, there are many more good reasons not to miss this year’s Concours of Elegance: The headline features of the concours promise a fabulous selection of Great British Cars – from early Bentley Le Mans winners to the Aston Martin Valkyrie – and Landmark Ferraris, including the 2 x Le Mans winning Ferrari 275P as well as a 250 LM, a California Spyder and an ultra-rare 330 GTC Speciale. Speaking of Le Mans, the 100th anniversary of the world’s greatest endurance race will also be celebrated with a line-up of race-winning cars from all eras that hasn’t been seen on British soil before. Meanwhile, we are excited to see the cars that have been selected for the classes dedicated to Bugatti and Bespoke Coachbuilding – so if we should not be attending our stand, you can certainly find us marvelling at an art-deco sculpture on wheels.

Every year, Concours of Elegance puts the spotlight on a world-class car collector – and we were delighted to learn that this year, the committee has chosen Fritz Burkard and his outstanding Pearl Collection. Spanning more than a century of car history, from the dawn of the automobile to the hypercars of the present days, Burkard’s carefully curated collection certainly ranks among the world’s most interesting in the world. And that’s not all: Together with our friends from A. Lange & Söhne, we have prepared another surprise that will be revealed shortly before the start of the concours. So stay tuned – and hopefully we’ll see you on 1st to 3rd September at Hampton Court.

Last but not least: As a Classic Driver reader, you can profit from an exclusive 2-4-1 anniversary discout on Concours of Elegance tickets, so you only pay only 50 GBP instead of 100 GBP when booking two tickets using the link below.
