For a brand such as Ferrari, it can be an arduous task to better what is already perceived as perfect. Whether it's their rival-destroying V12 powerplants, perfectly Pininfarina-designed bodywork, or the continuation of its racing roots, Maranello know a thing or two about producing the goods. In 2011, they took their supercars to truly uncharted territory, creating their first-ever all-wheel-drive machine, the FF.
Not only did the FF sport a complicated in-house designed four-wheel-drive system, but it also had enough space to comfortably sit four passengers, hence the name ‘Four Four’, or FF. The result was a car that saw a major departure from the California, 458 and 599 that had arrived years prior, and showcases a far more usable Ferrari for the everyday driver, still boasting over 650 horsepower from its naturally aspirated 6.3-litre V12. While it didn’t set the sales boards alight, it laid a healthy foundation as a sophisticated cruiser-come-crazy supercar with plenty of cabin space, something that was followed with the GTC/4 Lusso and most recently the Purosangue.
As with many Ferraris of this era, so many opted for Rossa Corsa, but a select few owners were brave enough to go against the grain, with this fine example at B.I. Collection proving red isn’t always right. Blu Pozzi is one of our all-time favourite shades here at Classic Driver and combined with chocolate brown leather throughout the cabin, as well as bright silver finished wheels and a hint of heritage with the Rosso Corsa brake callipers. If you’re looking for a do-it-all supercar that is seemingly ageing better by the day, this FF is a more than capable candidate!
