Sweet 16
We don’t like to throw the term ‘unicorn’ around too often, but if any car fits the bill, it’s this one-of-nine 1993 Cizeta V16T. Like many of the true supercar rarities scattered around the globe, this Cizeta was ordered new by the Royal Family of Brunei and features Gandini-designed bodywork that would make even the most steroidal raging bulls blush.
However, beyond the 1990s spaceship-tastic design, this Cizeta’s 540 horsepower transversally-mounted 6.0-litre V16 is what cements it as one of the most technologically-advanced cars of the era. As one of approximately 2,000 cars commissioned by the Royal Family of Brunei during the 1990s, it’s unsurprising that this V16T was never really driven, having covered fewer than 1,000 km. Now, it’s up to you to right this wrong and share this Cizeta’s 16 cylinder howl with the world as it heads to RM Sotheby’s Monterey sale between August 15th and 17th.

Disco Across the Globe
For decades, Land Rovers have been crawling across the Earth, making tyre tracks where no other vehicles have ever ventured. This 2005 Land Rover Discovery helped to further the tradition as one of the cars that competed in the Land Rover G4 Challenge, a global adventure that continued where the Camel Trophy left off. Run in support of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, each stage of the G4 Challenge included physical trials such as mountain biking, kayaking, rock-climbing, abseiling, trail running and rope work alongside the obligatory off-road driving.
The Discovery 3 you see here is one of only 39 V8-engined examples used for the 2006 G4 Challenge and is fitted with almost every accessory one could imagine. After the G4 Challenge, it was used for promotional events by Sytner Manchester and currently shows just 12,400 miles on the clock. Champagne Sippin’ Celica
Founded by motorsport legends Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby, All American Racers (AAR) caught the attention of Toyota in the early 1980s after proving their worth by winning in Both Formula One and Indy Car. Toyota and AAR entered a partnership to compete in the IMSA GT Championship’s entry-level GTU class in 1983, and by 1985 they already had 10 wins under their belt. So, for the launch of the next-generation Celica, they decided to move up into the big leagues and compete with the likes of the Ford Mustang, Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette in the full-fat GTO class.
Completed in July 1986, this car, chassis 86T-002, squeezed every ounce of performance out of the rulebook and was really only a Celica in name. Featuring an AAR-built tubular space frame chassis, it was powered by the legendary four-cylinder Toyota T engine, which was put to work in various forms in almost every discipline of motorsport, and in this Celica it made nearly 600 horsepower before IMSA-mandated restrictions were added.
One of only three built, chassis 86T-002 won the 1986 IMSA GTO Championship with an incredible 19 podium finishes, including seven 1st place finishes. Completely mechanically restored and benefitting from a brand new engine, this Celica is accompanied by an extensive spares package that will help you enjoy this mighty championship-winning Toyota at the many historical motorsport events for which it is eligible.
Raptor Resurrected
With only five rumoured to have been built, we’d forgive our readers for not immediately recognising this ultra-rare Lamborghini 5-95 Zagato, and we suspect only a select few will know it drew inspiration from the even more obscure 1995 Lamborghini Raptor concept, which Zagato also penned. It was this Raptor concept that caught the eye of Swiss collector Albert Spiess, who originally commissioned the first of these outstanding Lamborghinis.
The 5-95 debuted at the 2014 Concours d’Eleganza Villa d’Este as a celebration of both Lamborghini’s 50th and Zagato’s 95th anniversaries. Based on the underpinnings of the Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, the 5-95 features a 562 horsepower 5.2-litre V10, helping it to hit 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 mph. While there’s no shortage of incredible details to admire in the 5-95’s design, we must highlight its insane front wing, mounted just below the windshield.
