RM Sale of Saltarelli Ducati Collection: Update

We recently announced that RM Auctions would be selling one of the world’s most important Ducati collections, at the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique on 10 to 12 May. RM has now released fuller details on the legendary Saltarelli Collection.

An incredible 100 motorcycles will be offered ‘without reserve’, including some highly noteworthy race machines. Among these is the 1970 Ex-Works Ducati 450 Desmo ‘Corsa’, as displayed at the Ducati museum in Bologna in recent years, and a 1990 Ex-Works Ducati 888 SBK, ridden in period by Giancarlo Falappa. Then there are the two 750SS race bikes from the 1970s: ‘Race Number 1’, the mount of works rider Franco Uncini, and ‘Race Number 23’, which scored a number of victories and podium finishes during the 1974 and 1975 seasons, often in the hands of Carlo Saltarelli himself.
