Aston Martin Voyage 55' : Aston Marine

The Voyage is one American yacht designer’s vision of what would happen if Aston Martin decided to expand its product portfolio onto the water...

Taking design cues from current Aston models such as the Vantage, Virage and DBS, the 55-foot speedboat is another design from Luiz de Bastro, whose past work has included two Banzais and an Otam.

The most obvious reference to the Aston Martin design language is the iconic grille, which is reinterpreted to form the windscreen of the Voyage. The gold frame on green paintwork is reminiscent of racing Astons, such as the classic DBR2 and more modern DBR9.

Elsewhere, the side vents from the modern road cars can be seen in the boat’s side window, and the hatch in the foredeck pays tribute to the bonnet vents of a DBS. The navigation lights echo the headlights of a V8 Vantage, and start the long curve which resembles the bonnet and roof lines of current models.

Aft there are some obvious references to the rear treatment of current Astons, with the rear light shapes being used to form the exhausts of the boat.

De Bastro makes it clear that although Aston Martin has allowed him to use its design features and logos, the Voyage is purely a concept and is not intended for production.
