The penultimate T-Series Midget, the TD, appeared in 1949. A continuation of the 1930s designed TC, The TD heralded some well-received post-war refinements; independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, steel wheels, and the availability of left hand drive, made the TD an appealing motorcar for the export market. When production of the TD finished in 1953 it's reported that all but around 1,650 of the 30,000 cars produced were exported, with 23,000 or so heading to the USA alone, this very car amongst them.

This example is finished in red (original colour was black) with a matching interior and hood. It was originally bought by the present vendor's husband in 1963 and ran it until 1970. The car had two more subsequent owners before he then bought it back again in 2003. The car then transferred into the current vendor's name upon the death of her husband in 2012. So, there have been a total of six owners from new including the owner's husband twice and the now the present vendor. The car was refurbished some years ago when it also had a change of colour and fitted with a reconditioned engine, new carpets etc. The history file has various invoices, copies of old logbooks and past MoT test certificates.
