Beschreibung
The Lancia Flaminia was designed as the company’s flagship offering and featured numerous body styles designed by some of Italy’s most famous coachbuilders. Available as a sedan, coupe, convertible, and landaulet limousine, the most famous variant was the coupe, with coachwork by Zagato. Known as the Flaminia Sport, the coupe was built on a shorter wheelbase and featured a lightweight aluminum body with Zagato’s famous “double bubble” roof. In 1964, this model was superseded by the Flaminia Super Sport, which featured a more powerful 150 hp engine and updated exterior styling with improved aerodynamics.
This 1967 Lancia Flaminia Super Sport Zagato is an attractive, driver-quality example finished in white, with Italian flag stripes down the center, over a black leather interior. The consignor acquired the Flaminia in 2016, and during his ownership it received both maintenance and restoration work and participated in the 2018 Copperstate 1000 rally. Photos and detailed invoices on file chronicle both mechanical and cosmetic work completed from 2017 to 2021.
Offered here is an opportunity to acquire one of the most sophisticated and well-rounded grand touring cars of the 1960s. Rare as one of just 150 built, and significant as the final evolution of the Flaminia Super Sport, this example offers its next owner the chance to experience Lancia’s legendary engineering, clothed in gorgeous coachwork, with all the hallmarks of Zagato’s inimitable style.
