  • Finished in red over a black interior; equipped with Daytona-style seats, power windows, and air conditioning
  • Retains its matching-numbers engine
  • Desirable “E-Series” variant, and one of 226 examples painted in Giallo Fly
  • Accompanied by a history file that includes workshop invoices totalling near €50,000 in the past decade

Completed on 5 February 1973, the Scaglietti body of this attractive Dino 246 GTS was coated in the Salchi shade of Giallo Fly. Inside, the cabin was trimmed with Nero Connolly leather and featured Daytona-style seats, power windows, and air conditioning.

Destined for the US market, this Dino 246 GTS arrived at Modern Classic Motor Cars in Reno, Nevada in March 1973. The car was reported to have been for sale at Marque Motors in Monrovia, California in May that year. In 1982, it was noted as being owned by David Newsham in Burbank, California. In July 1984, chassis 04876 was said to have been painted red and located in San Fernando Valley, California.

In 1989, the Ferrari was exported to Switzerland, remaining there until 1991, when it was acquired by the Oldtimer Garage in Bern. It was later sold in 1991 to Auto Salon Singen, in Germany—the next known owner took care of the car until April 1992. Five years later, the car traded hands and remained in the gentleman’s possession until 2016. Venturing to Monaco, this Dino 246 GTS spent three years there, before being acquired by the consignor via Garage Classic Driver in July 2020. While in Monaco, over €17,000 was spent with Garage Des Moneghetti in Beausoleil.

Since 2020, over €30,000 has been spent in workshops, with €10,500 attributed to Modena Motorsport in Längenfeld, Germany in March 2022. As it is presented today, the car is offered in a shade of red, with a black interior that has the factory-correct Daytona-style seats. Factory records verify that this Ferrari retains its matching-numbers engine, while selected hinges match the correct body number.

Accompanied by invoices dating back to 1997, a copy of the Ferrari Vehicle Production data sheet, and a Marcel Massini report, chassis 04876 presents an exciting opportunity to acquire a well-maintained example of the Ferrari Dino 246 GTS.To view this car and others currently consigned to this auction, please visit the RM website at rmsothebys.com/auctions/tc24/.
