Beschreibung

Featuring modern looks and high-quality components, the 500 Mach III (also jokingly referred to as the “flying coffin”) was built around a duplex cradle, with telescopic suspension and drum brakes. The power and torque values and other performance data specified by the manufacturer, which were rather impressive for the time, contrasted starkly with the slender telescopic hydraulic fork and small brake diameter. The engine was particularly solid, with a shaft rotating on six main bearings, designed to support the over-abundant engine torque.
